The Ultimate PCIe Expansion Solution
The MCIO-PCIEX16-G5 Expansion bridge card can transform industry standard MCIO ports into PCIe Gen5 x16 slots. Each board can accept up to two MCIO connections and provide up to x16 lanes to the hosted PCIe device. This capability significantly boosts system connectivity, effectively overcoming the PCIe limitations of conventional motherboard design.
The x16 mechanical slot accepts any industry standard PCIe device, and can provide up to x16 dedicated lanes of Gen5 bandwidth. The compact solution is similar in size to 1U riser card, and provides multiple mounting point designed for use with standard mounting screws. This enables the bridge card to be easily integrated into industry standard desktop/tower, server or rackmount chassis.
Key Features:
2x MCIO 8i (SFF-1016) Ports (dedicated x8 lanes per port) accept industry standard MCIO 8i to MCIO 8i cabling
1x PCIe x16 Slot (up to x16 lanes for hosted PCIe devices)
Supports 1x industry standard PCIe 5.0 x8 or x16 device (backwards compatible with PCIe Gen4/Gen3)
Natively supported by Mainstream Operating systems; compatible with any OS with native PCIe support
Requires MCIO connectivity with host bifurcation (motherboard or PCIe Switch Adapter, such as the Rocket 1624A or Rocket 1628A
Flexible mounting points comply with industry standard chassis design
Designed for use with HighPoint PCIe 5.0 Switch Adapters (Rocket 1624A, Rocket 1628A, Rocket 7638D)
Unmatched Expansion Capability
The MCIO-PCIEX16-G5 can be used with either one or two MCIO connections - either from the host motherboard, or an adapter card. Each slot provides up to x8 lanes of transfer bandwidth:
A single-port configuration will support up to one PCIe x8 device
Dual-port configurations can support a single PCIe x16 Device
Designed for use with HighPoint PCIe Switch Adapters
Rocket PCIe Gen5 Switch Adapters are an ideal match for the MCIO-PCIEX16-G5. Proven PCIe Switching architecture provides x48 lanes of internal bandwidth, ensuring each MCIO port allocates x8 lanes of dedicated downstream bandwidth to the bridge card. This also enables each adapter to support multiple bridges; 1 per MCIO 8i port:
Rocket 7638D: 2x MCIO 8i ports - up to 2x MCIO-PCIEX16-G5 Bridge Cards
Rocket 1624A: 2x MCIO 8i ports - up to 2x MCIO-PCIEX16-G5 Bridge Cards
Rocket 1628A: 4x MCIO 8i ports - up to 4x MCIO-PCIEX16-G5 Bridge Cards
Single x16 Slot Expansion Solution
