Each unit weighs in under ten pounds, dry, and incorporates a frame mounted carrying handle for easy, secure portability.
Industry Proven RAID & Storage Technology
RocketStor 661x Thunderbolt 3 RAID enclosures are powered by HighPoint’s industry proven RAID & Storage technology, and are capable of supporting one more RAID 0, 1, 5,10, 50 arrays, JBOD configurations and single drives. Our RAID technology provides several advantages over purely-software driven RAID solutions:
Online Array Roaming – RocketStor 661x series enclosures support Online Array Roaming, which simplifies storage upgrade and replacement. Customers are free to move the enclosure to any system with Thunderbolt™ 3 connectivity, and can even move the hosted drive media to other HighPoint series enclosures or controllers without having to start from scratch or recover an array. In addition, RocketStor 661x enclosures are also capable of recognizing arrays created with other HighPoint series products, even if drives are moved to different bays/ports.
Enhanced RAID Recovery provides a feature set typically associated with enterprise grade storage solutions, and was designed to streamline service workflows. Unlike client-grades solutions, which typically employ a one-size-fits all approach to RAID recovery (regardless of the storage media or configuration), RocketStor RAID enclosures will dynamically adjust each recovery session to correspond with the specific fault or disk-related failure responsible for the break. The RocketStor driver was engineered to zero in on the problem areas, and will restrict activity to these particular sectors. This can shave countless hours off the expected recovery time, especially for arrays comprised of today's largest 20TB+ hard disks.
Advanced Cooling System Maximizes the Reliability and Performance of Your Storage Investments
Built for professional applications and enterprise grade storage media, RocketStor 661x RAID enclosures are equipped with a highly advanced temperature monitoring and alert system designed to ensure hosted storage media deliver maximum performance and reliability. Two sets of powerful, low-decibel cooling fans – one for the storage media positioned directly behind the drive bays, and a second for the unit’s power supply.
Intelligent, Automated Fan Control: The system operates in a default “Smart” mode, and will dynamically adjust fan speed to keep temperatures in check. Customers that need a more controlled working environment can use the front panel LCD to manually select from four speed settings, including an option to completely disable all four cooling fans. The system can also be controlled via the unit’s software management interface from within the OS.
Configurable Temperature Thresholds: The WebGUI and CLI (command line interface) allow administrators to establish temperature thresholds for each hosted SSD or HDD. When a threshold is breeched, the enclosure can be configured to sound the audible alarm, and report the problem via pop-up messages and email notification.
Instant, Real-Time Storage Monitoring & Temperature Management System
RocketStor 661x series Thunderbolt 3 RAID enclosures are equipped with a selection of pro-active monitoring, alert and management features designed to simplify administration in the field. The most prominent feature is the configurable 16x2 backlit LCD screen, which is an integral component of the enclosure’s advanced cooling system. It provides administrators with instant, real-time temperature monitoring and full suite of fan controls. Integrated LED indicators actively monitors the status of hosted storage devices with a simple and intuitive color-coding scheme; Yellow for warning, Red for failure or error, Green for Normal/Optimal.
