HighPoint Accelerates the Post-VMware Era: Dual-Track NVMe Solutions Optimized for Microsoft Hyper-V, S2D, and Proxmox Enterprise Clusters

Fremont, CA – February 2026— HighPoint Technologies, Inc., a pioneer in PCIe Gen5 NVMe storage architecture, has announced a new line of Gen5 x16 NVMe Boot RAID and Switch AICs and Adapters engineered to streamline the global transition from VMware to Microsoft and Open-Source virtualization platforms, offering a high-performance alternative to legacy infrastructure.

As enterprises navigate the "2026 VMware Renewal Cliff," HighPoint is introducing a dual-track hardware strategy designed to fortify the two most critical pillars of modern server architecture: Adding Redundancy to the System Boot drive and seamless integration with High-Density Software-Defined Storage (SDS) suites.

The Rocket 7600A Series: Resilient, Redundant Bootable Drive Support for Hyper-V and Proxmox

“Moving away from VMware is a performance opportunity, not just a cost-saving measure,” said May Hwang, Marketing Director at HighPoint Technologies. “By decoupling mission-critical boot reliability via our 7600A RAID series from the raw SDS throughput of our 1600 Switch series, we are providing Solution Providers with the definitive blueprint to build clusters that are faster, more reliable, and more scalable than the systems they replace.”

Dual-Track Component Strategy for Solution Providers

HighPoint has optimized two distinct lines of hardware solutions to enable System Integrators (SIs) and IT architect build more resilient, enterprise-grade clusters:

The Resilient Boot Engine (Rocket 7600A Series): This series provides SIs with NVMe Switching technology and RAID 1 Boot redundancy for host nodes. By ensuring the hypervisor (Hyper-V or Proxmox) remains online even during a boot-drive failure, Rocket 7600A AICs and Adapters significantly mitigate system downtime, thereby significantly reducing emergency service overhead for the end customer

The SDS Performance Hub (Rocket 1600 Series): Engineered with a pure PCIe Gen5 Switch architecture, this series is purpose-built for Software-Defined Storage (SDS) applications. By utilizing Native NVMe Drivers, these AICs and Adapters enable Microsoft S2D, ZFS, and Ceph to manage storage media directly, unleashing up to 64GB/s of raw bandwidth and near-zero latency for data-intensive workloads.

Building the Foundation for Success

In recognition of our Gen5 AICs and Adapters ability to serve as high-performance "nerve centers" for complex, integrated connectivity and expansion ecosystems, HighPoint is launching a specialized Collaboration Program for System Integrators.

This initiative provides partners with prioritized access to:

  • Technical Compatibility Consultation: Expert guidance for hardware/software synergy.

  • Exclusive Evaluation Program: Expedited access to Gen5 hardware for Proof-of-Concept (PoC) testing.

  • Dedicated Validation Resources: Documentation and tools to ensure seamless deployment in Microsoft and Linux environments.

HighPoint’s "Partner-Ready" hardware solutions empower SIs to provide clients with a resilient, cost-effective on-premises alternative to skyrocketing virtualization licensing fees.
