Proxmox is a Linux-based open-source Virtualization platform based on Ubuntu Linux. The Type-1 Hypervisor software was designed to run and manage Windows and Linux based operating systems using industry standard PC-based servers and workstations. Although available for free, users that require technical support and advanced security features are encouraged to subscribe to the commercial distributions.
