Question

After upgrading OS X 10.8.x for the system, the RocketRAID 2314/2322 series host adapter can no longer detect the original RAID disk. How to solve this?

Answer

The issue is caused by the embedded driver in newer released OS X 10.8.x doesn’t work with Web GUI. Users need to remove that embedded driver and re-install a new driver and Web GUI. The following are work-around steps.

Please follow these steps.
1) Go the folder System > Library > Extensions >, look for the file “HighPointRR.kext” and delete that file.

2) Second, download the driver from the link http://www.hptmac.com for the product. First run the Un-install script to remove any previous installed driver.

Then re-install the driver but do not reboot or restart the system.

3) Third, download the Web GUI from the link from the same product location http://www.hptmac.com. And run the un-install script to remove any previous installed web GUI.

Then re-install the web GUI and reboot after installation is complete.

Once the system has booted up, open a browser and type URL to log into web GUI. http://localhost:7402
